Why charity and philanthropy in the community is important

In this unusual time we’re living in, we have a chance to take stock of where we are, what we’ve done and where we want to go in the future.  While the Covid-19 virus has brought quite a few changes to our way of life and business, TGB Group sees opportunities to help where we can.

Donating time and funds to communal organizations such as local food banks and homeless shelters are only a few ways of providing aid for those who require assistance right now.

TGB Group promotes philanthropy around us, this spirit is key in keeping a community together and thriving. By helping to improve situations, businesses are prime examples of resources that bring success and unity to a community. Whether it’s the jobs, opportunities or relationships they provide, businesses help to keep neighborhoods up and running – in both good times and bad.

Who we support

contributing to our communitiesSome of the places we support include the Montgomery County Food Bank, Texas Food Bank and Harvesters.  We also support Meals on Wheels and similar programs in communities through Texas to Kansas, where we do most of our business. These charities offer not only nutritious meals to people who are less fortunate than others, but a sense of belonging and understanding for those who often struggle to live their day-to-day lives.  In our current world situation, we believe very strongly in an organization that serves others and provides daily necessities.

Why is it important for businesses to give back to their communities? I supposed it could be a means to get the company “brand” out there, but heartfelt contribution goes much deeper than that. When a business takes the time to contribute to whatever degree possible to the people in its community, it shows that the business cares. The owners of the business care about the issues, lifestyle and well-being of the environment around them. A contribution to surrounding communities shows that a business values people.

By giving we hope to inspire others. As more businesses begin to give back to the communities that keep them running, those communities will join hands all around in order to reach the highest level of success.
