The ASLRRA hosts two annual regional meetings: the Central & Pacific Meeting and the Eastern & Southern Meeting. - Stakeholder Engagement: What did we learn from East Palestine – press response to East Palestine – what did we learn, and what railroads should be prepared for.
- Part 243 – Railroad/Contractor Training Requirements– JR Gelnar & FRA. Discuss the requirements for contractors regarding training on railroad specific rules for RMM operators and RWICs.
- Signal/Dispatcher Certification FRA – Discuss the requirements of the new signal and dispatcher certification regulations and provide updates on template development.
- TSA Update and Panel Discussion – short updates from TSA and ASLRRA on where TSA is with its cybersecurity directives and rulemaking, as well as a panel discussion on cybersecurity to include short line cyber/IT leads.
- Part 219 – An overview of 219 requirements for regulated employees will be provided by Sam Noe, FRA. Part 240/242 certification requirements involving Part 219 violations will be discussed, including DUIs.
- OSHA – Hazard Communication Final Rule and Tier 2 – ASLRRA Environmental Committee
- Procurement Panel- Supply chain strategies for 2025 and beyond, including forecasting, diversifying sourcing, and building flexibility to navigate disruptions, extreme weather and other uncertainties. A look at software and other tools to automate procurement processes as artificial intelligence continues to change the future of procurement.
