Location: Mayetta, Kansas

TGB Group worked with developer Prairie Band, LLC, owned by Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation of northeast Kansas, and H2B Architects of Kansas City, Mo., to provide the civil engineering design for a new learning center on the nation’s reservation. The center was being built to provide opportunities for Native Americans and others to have a place to teach classes.

TGB Group’s primary tasks

The plan called for approximately 3,500 square feet of space, which had to be designed and built to meet the accessibility standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. TGB Group provided the design for an entrance and a road to and from the facility, a parking lot and a turnaround area for buses.

Other tasks we completed for the developer included:

  • Topographic survey
  • All grading, pavement and sidewalk details
  • Drainage design
  • Construction staking

The design was finished ahead of time in the spring of 2017.
