This is one of several TGB projects for the Big Spring Economic Development Corp.
TGB Group is once again working with City of Big Spring, Texas, and its Economic Development Corporation to design and build two new roads into the city’s industrial park.
The Big Spring City Council recently approved TGB’s contract to assist the city and the EDC with the design work and construction activities for two new roads into the McMahon-Wrinkle Industrial Park, where we’ve performed various professional services over the past eight years.
One road will connect First Avenue on the south side of the tarmac near Perimeter Road with William B. Crooker Highway (the Hwy. 87 reliever route).
The second road will connect the highway on the west side of the park to Rickabaugh Drive and act as the new entry to the airport terminal.
Design and build specs
In October 2019, the TGB team began the required topographic survey of land for the approximately 14,000 feet of new roadway, and we expect engineering services for the design of the roads will be completed in February of 2020. We will also assist with permitting and bidding to qualified contractors late in the first quarter of 2020 and with construction oversight and administration later in the year.
TGB personnel have been working on engineering, design and construction projects in the industrial park for nearly eight years, and we are very excited to have been selected for this important design and build project. When work is completed, these two new roads will make access to the industrial park and airport much easier for both automobile and industrial traffic. This also opens access to a significant amount of property for future development in the Big Spring area.
